Sweet and Sour Pork (Chinese-American Takeout Favorite)

02 Ingredients
400g Pork Loin (cut into bite-sized chunks)
1 Egg (beaten)
½ cup Cornstarch
½ cup All-Purpose Flour
½ tsp Salt
½ tsp Black Pepper
Vegetable Oil (for frying)
For Sauce
3 tbsp Ketchup
2 tbsp Rice Vinegar (or White Vinegar)
2 tbsp Sugar
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
½ cup Pineapple Chunks (with juice)
1 Bell Pepper (red or green, chopped)
1 small Onion (chopped)
03 Method
Step 1
Season Pork with Salt and Black Pepper. Dip in Egg, then coat with a mixture of Cornstarch and Flour.
Step 2
Heat Oil in a deep pan or fryer to 175°C (350°F). Fry Pork in batches until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Step 3
In a skillet or wok, heat a little Oil. Stir-fry Onion and Bell Pepper for 2 minutes.
Step 4
Add Ketchup, Vinegar, Sugar, Soy Sauce, and Pineapple (with juice). Bring to a simmer until slightly thickened.
Step 5
Add the fried Pork pieces, tossing quickly to coat in the sauce.
Step 6
Serve hot with Steamed Rice.
